Tonight Show with Conan O’Brian Premiere!
The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien premiered last night on NBC with Will Ferrell as the first guest and Pearl Jam as the inaugural band. The show moved into a brand new star-of-the-art studio on the Universal Studios lot in LA and is using a completely digital, tapeless workflow.
In preperation for this launch, I worked with show engineers and our Digital Delivery departnment to implement a very efficent, tapeless delivery workflow. Highlights and full episodes are speed through the systems and viral clips can be published immediatly after the show airs on the east coast when needed.

NBC.com Wins SIX Webby Awards
It was announced this morning that NBC.com was awarded six Webby Awards. The site had seven nominations overall this year. This brings the grand total of Webbys awarded to NBC.com to ten in just the past three years. Among the winners announced this morning were the “Heroes” and “The Office” webisodes as well as the “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” web series and NBC Rewind, the site’s full episode player.
As a member of the NBC.com Broadband Operations team working with the Rewind Player is a significant part of my daily workload, prepping and delivering videos to ensure the highest quality user and advertiser experience. Currently I am responsible for ALL full episodes for The Office (highlighted as part of the Webby win), Heroes, The Celebrity Apprentice, Parks and Recreation and many more.
Heroes Webisodes: Nowhere Man
With season 3 of Heroes coming to a close, NBC.com is filling the gap with a NEW round of webisodes. I just finished posting the first one, check it out:

NBCDirect 2.0 Launch
Earlier this week I helped launch the beta of NBCDirect 2.0. This product allows viewers to download and watch HD quality full episodes of their favorite NBC’s shows anytime, anywhere, for FREE.
This launch is a major leap forward, as NBC is currently the only major broadcaster to offer almost their entire primetime lineup online in High Definition for free.
For this launch I prepped and deployed over 100 HD episodes and helped refine & QC the final transcoding profiles.
Take a look, download & watch a full episode and let us know what you think! We’re all very excited about this new launch.

GREAT NBC Shows Coming this Spring!
Check out some of the GREAT promos from NBC shows premiering this spring:
Southland
From Emmy Award winners John Wells, Ann Biderman and Chris Chulack comes a raw and authentic look at the police unit in Los Angeles. From the beaches of Malibu to the streets of East Los Angeles, “Southland” is a fast-moving drama that will take viewers inside the lives of cops, criminals, victims and their families.
Michael Cudlitz (”A River Runs Through It”) plays John Cooper a seasoned Los Angeles cop assigned to train young rookie Ben Sherman (Benjamin McKenzie, “The O.C.”). Cooper’s honest, no-nonsense approach to the job leaves Sherman questioning whether or not he has what it takes to become a police officer.
Parks And Recreation
From Emmy Award-winning executive producers Greg Daniels (NBC’s “The Office,” “King of the Hill”) and Michael Schur (NBC’s “The Office,” “Saturday Night Live”) comes a new mockumentary that looks at the exciting world of local government. The new half-hour comedy will examine the mundane but necessary ways that people interact with their government, and ask why it’s frequently so complicated — as everyone knows from standing in line at the DMV, applying for home construction permits, or trying to get the city to fix a pothole.
The documentary cameras follow Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler, NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” “Baby Mama”) a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana. In an attempt to beautify her town — and advance her career — Leslie takes on what should be a fairly simple project: help local nurse Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones, NBC’s “The Office,” “Unhitched”) turn an abandoned construction pit into a community park. Opposing them are defensive bureaucrats, selfish neighbors, real estate developers, and single-issue fanatics — whose weapons are lawsuits, the jumble of city codes, and the very democratic process that Leslie loves so much.
Scare Tactics Premiere
The NEW season of Scare Tactics premieres tonight on SciFi! Check out a preview below and stay tuned all-season, there are some GREAT bits!
I finished working on this show a few months back and while it was very hard work, it was also a blast! There nothing else like it on television.
For this show, I worked as a Technical Coordinator, prepping/purchasing all tech gear, setting up required production equipnment at each location and then operating a “B” camera for each shoot.
Also, check out screaming room… I have an on-screen cameo as a preist.
Ultimate Green Machines Trailer
Just finished working on the pilot episode of Ultimate Green Machines for Ecomaniacal Productions. For this project I acted as the Technical/IT Coordinator responsible for production, post, office, and web systems. Keep an eye out for this cool show in the near future!
2007 Murrow Symposium honoring Frontline
Last night was the 2007 Edward R. Murrow Symposium honoring Frontline and Executive Producer David Fanning. Over the past few days I’ve had the privilege to share a meal and conversation with this legendary journalist and have to say that he is truly one of the most brilliant filmmakers of our age. His speech was truly inspiring! Check it out online:
2007 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tourney
